I have a small notebook in which I copy various quotations that take my fancy and/or make me think. These quotes are, indeed, totally random. Some are funny and some are profound. Some are the glimpse of light at the end of a dark time.
Here is one from Diane Mariechild’s book Open Minds: “When you find your mind spinning into a rut, stop and take a deep breath. Then, while paying attention to the breath, think: ‘I breathe in clarity, I breathe out confusion.’ When the mind stabilises, continue the focus for a few more breaths, this time saying ‘I breathe in clarity, I breathe out clarity’.”
I find that helpful and I hope you do too.
You wrote this post on my birthday. I should have read it then – and again today!
